Tail Sections

Tail section specifically designed for the Airheads BMW´s, fits all R2v road bike series, LWB frames (1973-on), design based upon racing BMW´s in the Seventies, by Knoscher.

Made of GRP, glossy white finish, no imperfections, air bubbles, cracks etc as commonly found, very sturdy, reinforced with woven roving mat, truly excellent quality!

Fits as stressed element over the rear sub-frame, rear fixing is by using sub-frame fixing for original rear light, front fitting is by inserting tail front peg on frame centre tube.

Recessed area in the back for 70mm BMW round logo.

Price for the tail section is £110 or €130 plus delivery.

Optional upholstered seat base, bolt on by 8xM6 bolts also available, finished in high quality black vynil. Very comfortable and smart. Price for the base is £68 or €80.

Optional polished alloy trim for the seat base for an extra £5 or €7, depending on availability, contact me for more details.

Please note that this seat base has been designed to fit with the FlatRacer tank, therefore is too short to fit with the original tank. I'll be producing extra long seat bases in the near future for those wishing to keep their original tanks. Please do contact me for further details.

BMW roundel badge, 70mm diameter, as used on original BMW seats ans tanks, fits the Knoscher type of tail section or the 3/4 seat assembly as per fitted on the 1977 BMW R100RS. Very high quality, self-adhesive. Other sizes including 12, 21, 27, 45, 50, 60, 81mm available, please enquire.

BMW R100RS complete seat assembly, very close replica of the original combo fitted to the 1977 BMW R100RS, commonly known and the three quater seat (3/4) or seat an'half, only fitted by BMW for less than two years (1977-1978). Highly desirable and no longer available from BMW.

Fits exactly as per the original, fitted with stainless steel hinges, BZP locking rod and rubber bump stops, as per the original.

Seat base made of sturdy and very thick GRP, for corrosion resistance, finished in semi-gloss black, for that original look, extra strong, reinforced with woven roving (similar to yatch construction methods), very flexible yet nigh on unbreakable. No more rusty seats!

Fitted with a very precise and accurate replica of the original seat foam and vynil cover, with the patterns exactly as BMW designed it over 30 years ago.

It includes an excellent quality Tail section (cowl) replica, made of sturdy GRP (as per the original), finished in glossy white, it includes the hand peg cowls (not pictured) in exactly the same dimension as the originals. Special care was given to the edges and drilling points. The tail section is pre-marked for accuracy of cutting and fitting, if hand pegs are required, exactly in the same position as the original BMW cowl.

All these items are inter changeable with the original seat and cowl, unlike some other patterns on the market.
