The iconic BMW R90S cockpit fairing, the first fairing to be fitted on a mass produced motorcycle from the manufacturer (discounting the small numbers of Vincent Black Prince and the Ariel Leader), it inspired countless designs including Guzzi LeMans, Kawasaki Z1R, Suzuki GS1000S etc, etc.
This kit is designed to fit any BMW R2v Series keeping a low cost (this kit is seriously expensive from BMW, at over £750 and not all parts are available or included!) and with a bit of thought, has been applied to other makes and models such as BMW R8v series, Moto Guzzis and even Ducati Monsters.
This new fairing is very sturdy, thick (typically between 4 to 6mm), it will not flex or shake at speed. Very well finished with a fairly smooth surface inside (we use GRP surface mat for a better finish) with out usual attention to details so no air bubbles, cracks, frayed edges etc. Complete with a full fitting kit that can be fitted to other makes and models using conventional telescopic forks with few minor modifications.

BMW R 2 valve Series (commonly known as Airheads) have some handling idiosyncrasies , like heavy steering due to the narrow bars (especially R100RS) and by having a lot of weight concentrated at the front, which can create a lot of tendency to waver at speed and to stand up or lie down in bends due to torque reactions, tram lining, wobbling at slow speeds and so on.
The handling can feel soggy and bouncy and it will not feel pleasant at all if all other suspension components are past their date, such as tired fork springs and dampers, old fork oil, weeping seals (easy to ignore on rubber boot equipped forks), worn steering bearings and races etc.
The standard BMW fork brace/mudguard mount is a fairly lightweight piece of pressed stainless steel on ATE brake equipped bikes (steel in later Brembo equipped bikes). Although the stainless steel brace looks nice (the later steel rots unbelievably), it is really a fairly flimsy affair that will not prevent the handling problems, especially when riding with pillion and luggage.
This tubular brace replaces the flimsy mudguard mount & provides substantial bracing of the fork legs. The effect is quite staggering!
It will provide an all-round improvement in the feel of the front end. Much less dive when braking and generally more positive, especially in the twisties and curves. It will eliminate the feel of heavy steering, wavering and wobbles (if the rest of the suspension components are in good condition) and will practically eliminate the torque reaction we sometimes get from the steering when accelerating or braking.
